Leos Step back

image image image image image image image imageSo Been a bad week this week. Leo managed for the second time to hurt his back. X-rays and MRI scans were done and turns out hes pulled a vertebrae. So looks like he will have to have surgery to pin it as it seems to trap a nerve leaving his remaining leg completely useless.

We have all the anti inflammatorys and pain medication until we see the specialist tomorrow buts its worrying.

Today hes running around as if nothing is wrong but i know he could be in trouble again any time so i am worried about letting him the garden or out to play!

He rocked his harness and bandanna though 😉

Hi I have a border collie pup who sadly was born with a problem with his foot. Sadly the damage wasnt able to be repaired so he had his rear leg removed at 4 days old! I have also adopted 2 Malaysian Tripawds this year called Brad and Leah who are awesome! <3

  1. Well one thing at a time my sweet girl. Did they say if it can correct itself as he grows? I mean he still has open growth plates etc or are they saying that it will never correct itself?
Leo you better behave yourself little boy

  2. They seem to think this will continue to happen over and over.
I don’t want surgery for him but I hate seeing him looking so sorry for himself 😔 xxx

  3. Oh Leo you sweet boy! Please keep us posted on what the specialist has to say. Prayers being sent for a fix for your little one

    1. Will do thank you!
I adore my little super star and will do whatever it takes to make him happy and comfortable as I am so very proud of him!

  4. Ohhh sweet Leo. You DO look great in your bandanna! I love your smooshy face, I just want to kiss you!!!

I’m sorry about the surgery recommendation. Would it be possible to get a second opinion? I would just want to be so sure before something as major as that. I know your vets are awesome but it might make you feel more confident no matter which way you go.

Hugs coming your way. Keep us posted.

  5. Geez Leo! You are too spunky for your own good sometimes!!

We know you will do what’s best for Leo without question. But I absolutely agree about a second opinion at least!

The anti-inflamms seem to be working, right? He’s back to his normal self with the meds and a little rest?

And to piggyback on what Michelle says about Leo still growing, how could they even consider doing such major surgery while he’s still growing? Would evey growth spurt mean another corrective surgery?

Now, onto more fun things! Leo’s pictures are adorable as usual!! 🙂 Leo is a real smile maker around here!

Sending love and positive energy to all!

Gosj, do keep js posted. We are all over the moon in love with this little guy.

  6. That was actually only what the vet suggested. We are seeing a specialist later today then I have an appointment also on Monday.
I will say this right now he’s walking, and is comfortable so we won’t be making any emotional fused decisions until we know for sure what’s right for him.
I have a sling for him when times are bad and even when they are bad he doesn’t seem to be in any pain just gets frustrated more than anything else.
I am thinking the same that surgery seems very drastic at this stage so it maybe we can chose to wait a while or at least wait until he’s over this bit to assess the situation 😊😘
Lots of love me and Leo the squidgy bomb of love xxx
